This guy not only sucks meathole at teaching, but he stinks at everything
he does, including bathing.  He needs to replace that muff-of-a-rug toupee
on top of his dome with something better than an inbred sewer rat.  To say
it lightly, this guy can't teach, especially when you are too occupied
making jokes about his sad life.

The guy is a racist dick. dont take him.

This is a really hard class.  I guess it's good, because you really learn
how to write and prepare a research paper.  I found it stressful, because I
always had to redo my papers.  I didn't find him very helpful when I had
questions.  

This professor was unfair in his grading policies. He tested us on
information he never told us would be on the test. He was anal and he
wanted us to do more work than should be expected from an english 56 class.
He wanted us to keep a journal and write a page every day. We did not have
a choice on what we could write in the journal. Abney claimed that this
journal practice was required by the school for all english 56 classes. I
checked with the english department and it is not formally required. I just
took English 56 this semester and had no homework at all. I only had 2
essays I had to write at home. Abney is probably a decent person but he is
too strict of a teacher for my taste.

Mr. Abneys English 1A class was the hardest class that I have taken at
Cuesta. Our class started with nearly fourty students and in the final
weeks there were only thirteen students that managed to struggle through
the semester, only six or seven of whom passed. You don't have to read a
lot in his class but he makes you write a ton of essays, and he is a very
tuff grader. I managed to pass his class with a B, but it wasn't easy.  If
you take his class, I recommend that you have all of your papers reviewed
by someone who has a degree before you turn them in.
