Ken was a really great teacher, super nice guy, and willing to go the extra
mile with his students and help them where he can. Good humored and
thoughtful, he understands that students HAVE LIVES outside school and will
try to work with you/understands if you have an emergency or person
problem. I would recommend him to anyone, just take good notes and you
will do fine! |

Barclay is my favorite teacher at Cuesta, his class teaches you
responsibility for your own education, he treats you like an adult and his
tests and quizzes are easy to study for and very straight forward. He tells
the history as if he experienced and makes it so interesting, if you need
to take 7A or 7B this is the class to take, i have taken both and love the
guy he is awesome!!! |

Overall, a good teacher. Not afraid to let his own interpretation of
history override the book's interpretation, and that says that he at least
has studied the material. Definitely knows what he's talking about and
delivers it in an understandable manner. Interesting, funny, and very
enthusiastic. Great tests, too. |

Mr. Barclay was a different type of teacher. I didnt really feel like
there was anything in the class that I didnt already know, and I am not a
History buff. He just, in a way, blabbed on about what we were supposed to
be covering and didnt cover anything in depth. Somthing like WWII (that
should have taken a couple of class days), we went over in an hour. He is
a good teacher for those who can do well on tests because there is no other
homework. I did like the fact that he always let us out early. My class
was Tuesdays from 4-7pm and we could count on being out by 5:30 every time.
For those who want an easy class (if you can do well on tests) he is the
guy to take but for those who want to learn about what happened in history
dont take him. |

Great teacher, i was never really into history but he would talk about
history in a way that would keep me interested and awake. i am not taking
the next history class solely because i wanted to continue my knowledge
about history. its too bad he doesnt have more sections at cuesta |

He is an AWSOME AWSOME AWSOME.............teacher. I am not a big fane of
history but he makes it interesting by teaching it like a story. He is a
very nice person and very understanding. I always enjoy comming to his
class.
Oh ya, I might add, he looks like George Burns on the Simpsons. But
Dr.Barclay is nothing like him. |

Great teacher, he loves his subject. Can't go wrong with a teacher that
loves his/her subject and loves doing what he/she does!
He does talk a lot, and can rarely be boring, but still a great teacher! |

He is the best history teacher I have ever had. His lectures are
interesting, and his tests are easy if you take good notes. He seems to
really care about his students, and he loves this subject. He helped me
decide that I wanted to be a history major. This teacher is great, I
recommend him to everyone. |

He is a wonderful teacher. My friend and I took the class together,
thinking that we could help each other to not be bored out of our minds.
Turns out, Barclay did that for us. He is a great teacher, motivating, and
very understanding that a college students life doesn't revolve around pre
or post reconstruction. Take him, and take good notes. Show up for class
though (his tests come straight from his lecture) and listen, and you'll
get a good grade. |

you can't really help but like him. he's a good teacher and tries to make
it enjoyable for everyone. i'm taking a late class though so it gets a
little tiring and boring-mostly because it's so late and long though.
tests are multiple choice and essay. he gives fair warning and the essays
seem to be easier than the multiple choice, for me anyways. |

I enjoyed Mr. Barclay's 7B class so much I decided to follow it up with his
7A class the very next semester. He's a great teacher, and I'm not just
saying that because he doesn't assign any homework aside from the reading.
His lectures are a lot of fun and are always interesting. He loves history
and it shows. |

One of the best if not the best teacher i have ever had. He was extremely
concerned about how everyone did and you could tell he really wanted
everyone to do good. He is also very into history and really makes an
effort to get everyone else interested in it as well. One of the things i
liked most was that no matter who you were he always asked how the test
went to each student as they turned it in. If you need to take history,
take it with Barclay. |

Dr. Barclay is an excellent teacher. His class was the most enjoyable I had
this semester. Do not miss a class though because his lectures are very
informative and you will find yourself behind. I would not take history
with any one else after attending his class. I definitely got my moneys
worth. |

Mr. Barclay is awesome. I took a night class with him (7-10pm) and never
once did I get bored as is the case with a lot of night classes. His
lectures are one big story about history which are very interesting. You
can tell he really knows his stuff because he never looks at his notes or
refers to his book but he is always right on target with the reading. His
tests are more heavily graded on the essay part than multiple choice so be
prepared to write a lot! |

Dr. Barclay is the BEST history teacher I have ever had! He's enthusiastic,

If you like listening to stories take history from Dr. Barclay. He turns
the whole class into a giant story, which makes the class really
interesting. I learned so much in this class and it wasn't painful at all. |
