She absolutely and irreparably ruined my life. All I needed was a C to get
into Poly and she offered me no help even though i was extreemly close. She
even met my Grandmother in England and lied to her about my grade, saying
"I don't remember what grade I gave him" when she knew damn well she
stiffed me with a D when I did the homework, passed the final and worked
hard in that class!!! All I can say is I wish i had more hands, so I could
that b%$#@ 4 thumbs down!!

Didn't like her at all, she's nice and very good at delivering her stuff to
the class...but she's hella anal on the grading and point docking...makes
doing homework a joke when i had her for trig...

She is a really good teacher. She is extremely organized which makes it
easier to follow the material and stay organized yourself. She goes
through problems thoroughly which really helped me and prevented me from
getting confused or lost with what she was doing. I think her pace is
good, it is better than a teacher who blazes through the material so fast
and doesn't care if you understand or even caught any of what they did.
She is very explanatory and does not try to trick you on the tests. If you
do the homework (which you turn in before each test) and understand the
problems she goes over in class (take notes), you should be fine on the
tests. She gives quizzes which have about 2 or 3 problems on them. I
really enjoyed this class, I can definitely say it was less rigorous than
precalculus.

did not like this teacher at all. reciecved above 90 on every test
including final and also did well on the quizzes(when i attended) but
because she moved so slow and i had already taken calculus in high school
it was hard to go to class. thus i ended up getting an 89 which equals an
B. So i say the least i was a little bitter/disapointed i figured this an
easy A. Bad teacher, teaches the class like everyone was an idiot, moved
at a snails pace....

Great teacher! She's very good at teaching her subject. She really helped
to give me a strong algebra foundation before I tackled both the Calculus's
here at Cuesta. She was able to answer almost any question I threw at her
when it came to math. When I asked her a math question she wasn’t able to
answer, she actually did some research and the next day she was able to
explain in-detail the precise answer. I'll admit it, I'm a bit of a math
geek from time to time, so qualities like that are pretty appealing to me
when it comes to choosing a math teacher, but to the average Joe, it
probably wont matter much. Just because Math comes easy to me doesn’t mean
that I like all the math teachers however. I know a good math teacher when
I see one, and to me, a good math teacher is able to teach both the people
who get it and the people who don't. I have some friends that hate math
with passion, but they still enjoyed her class and somehow managed to pull
off a respectable grade despite the fact that they are completely
mathematically challenged. She is very approachable during he office house
and her tests are very straight forward (right out of the book). There
were never any unfortunate "surprises" on any of her tests, unlike Mr.
Turner but that’s another story in itself. Judy Barclay is a great choice,
I highly recommend her for any math class she teacher.

So far i've been impressed with the Math department at Cuesta with the
exception of the Calculus textbook and teaching method.

Barclay can teach the material clearly, doesn't surprise you on the test,
and answers most of the students questions clearly. She has a great handle
on the subject unlike many bad teachers who don't and muddle through
material (ahem, calculus).

Take Pre-calc with Barclay and rest assured you will pass with flying
colors. Be a little careful about who you choose for Calculus. There are
some duds there.
